Where Did We Come From
This all started as a local project to assist a Pinellas County High School out of DA Supervision. Working with a visionary leader, as our new principal, it became apparent that the task was larger than the collective efforts of our leadership team. The question soon became how do we empower everyone on campus to know exactly what's going on for all of our students, all of the time so that they could provide the mentorship, goal setting and progress monitoring that really mattered?
After 4 straight years of D's to say we were excited with a B was an understatement. With successive C's, an improving climate and grad rate we knew we had changed the culture of the school and may really be on to something. The outcome was a result of a dedicated staff, accountable to each other, working hand in hand with a leadership team that asked as much of themselves as the staff, a principal dedicated to data analysis and process improvement, and the software that provided a platform for a way of work that continues today.
In the years following we rewrote the application so that it could be used by all schools, worked with our district technology team to automate the data transfers, and then one more major rewrite later we rolled it out to all of our middle schools.

Thank you so much Mr. Mason for training my team and allowing us to utilize your tool, we call it the SHEILD.
It has really been a one stop shopping program to review student behavior data, academic data, and attendance data. It has also established a platform for all levels of student support; student services departments, administration and instructors are able to use the Shield to outline and monitor plans for student success.
The SHIELD is an AMAZING RESOURCE!

I had the opportunity to experience the use of this interactive database over the six years I functioned as the behaviorist and ESE Department Chair at a large inner-city school. With an ESE population of over 350 students, the tools provided in this database enabled us to easily share IEP related and 504 accommodations with all the student's teachers and administrators, reducing the time consuming paperwork and increasing fidelity of that process.
I highly recommend the use of this product.

As a new Middle School Principal, I knew utilizing the MTSS database would be a game changer. Having used the it as an Assistant Principal of a potential State controlled school, was invaluable to helping us increase our school accountability grade twice, from an F to a C and a D to a C.
With the use of the database, we were able to create student groups, monitor at risk students, track attendance, utilize MTSS alerts of teacher students concerns and most importantly track academics. This made a cumbersome task of supporting students and teachers much more streamlined. I would not lead a school without this invaluable tool

I have been using the MTSS database to for the past three years and have been amazed at the impact it's allowed me to have on students.
Having all of their academic information in a very logical, easy to read/share format it's easy for me to have those meaningful Winning Wednesday conversation with my students. The contact section makes it easy to reference my notes and the MTSS Alerts allow us to discuss individual student supports with other teachers, counselors, AP's, without having to get together collectively.

The data base is an incredible resource and invaluable at warehousing data on students in need of tier 2 and 3 interventions in a way that can provide actionable interventions by all stake holders including teachers, counselors, student support services and administrators. Highly functionable and easy to navigate which provides timely communications and timely support to students in need. It provides a phenomenal framework for collegially discussion and problem solving to better support students behaviorally, socially, and academically.
